Henry Clay DARChapter History

The history of Henry Clay Chapter, NSDAR, began on June 7, 1958, at the home of Organizing Chapter Regent Mabel Thompson Buck, in Arlington, Virginia. There were twelve charter members. Because Mabel Buck greatly admired Henry Clay, who was born during the American Revolutionary War on April 12, 1777, in Hanover County, Virginia, as a remarkable achiever, she proposed his name in the expectation that the chapter would accomplish much. On June 7, 1958, Henry Clay Chapter, NSDAR, was chartered as a chapter to meet in Annandale, Virginia.

The chapter has honored its namesake with the cooperation of the Henry Clay Chapter, NSDAR, the teamwork of the chairmen and members within the chapter, and the inspired and dedicated leadership of her chapter regents:
